My Priorities
Affordable Housing
When I first moved to Loveland in 2016, half
of my paycheck was going to my one-bedroom, basement-level apartment. Today, it’s hard for so many, even the public servants essential to our society (such as teachers, firefighters, and EMTs) struggle to afford to live here. We all deserve affordable housing in our city.
Supporting Small Businesses
I know small businesses are the backbone of a strong local economy. I want to see our tax dollars going to help small businesses get their start, not large businesses adding just another chain restaurant or business to their massive portfolios.
Public Safety
I want to make sure our police department has the resources they need to receive training on identifying persons with dementia, autism, and those struggling with their mental health, and best supporting them during times of need.
Ending Homelessness
For far too long, our city has only allowed for emergency shelters, ensuring people do not die from exposure, but making no effort to get our unhoused neighbors into homes. I watched our city council throw out a plan from community-based faith and non-profit organizations earlier this year.
This moral and civic issue is solvable. There are studies and examples that we can follow. I will advocate for solutions, not band aids.
Participatory Budgeting
It’s your tax money, you should decide how it’s spent. I am a strong supporter of
participatory budgeting and want to see our
city to adopt this practice.
“Participatory budgeting is a democratic
process in which community members decide how to spend part of a public budget. It gives people real power over real money.“ - Participatory Budgeting Project
Library Funding
I believe that libraries are essential. I want to see the Loveland Public Library open back up to its original operating hours as soon as possible.
Libraries offer an essential place for all Loveland residents, from kids to seniors, to
learn and socialize.
